12 For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law.

Hebrews 7:12

Change.  It’s something most of us don’t really like.  We get comfortable in what we do and how we do it.  It becomes a routine.  Sometimes it becomes a “rut.”

I don’t like changing the brand of shoes I wear. I don’t like changing the brand of suit or shirt I wear.  I “struggled” when Rush Limbaugh stopped selling ties.

Sometimes we beg God for a change in our lives. It might be for a job, a better job, a new relationship, or a restored relationship.  Sometimes it is just the opposite.  We pray to God for things not to change.  It might be to not lose a job, or to not lose a relationship.

Whether Jesus walked the shores of the Sea of Galilee or the stony hills of Judea, he created change.  Some were healed.  Some were disappointed because of what they had to give up.  Some were angry.  But the common thread was that everyone Jesus met was changed in one way or another.  He came to change lives.

You cannot stay where you are and grow with God.  You either change and grow in what He has for you, or you stay where you are and miss out on His promises; His blessings; His love.

Did you experience a change in something today?  How did you react?  Did you welcome the opportunity to “grow,” or did you reject it and get angry?

Don’t reject change just because it is a change.  It might just be what God has planned for you.
