When You Can See God

11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

So many times we feel as if there is nothing for us in this life.  We have failed at what we have tried to do.  All of the guilt is stacked up on us.  We believe we are disqualified to do anything for God.  We just are not worthy anymore.

But that’s not God’s plan for us.  He has something special for each of us that He needs us to do.  He has chosen us to play that part.  But we need to find out what our part is.  And we can only do that when we focus on God.  When we get to the point when we can really see God in the things of this world around us, see His goodness, His love, His power, then we can see what God can see – the person He intended for us to be, filled with the hope that only comes from faith in the One who gave up His Son to die for us.

He looks into the mirror not liking what his eyes behold.

The fast living has stolen the years, making him look old.

There’s nothing from his life that can bring him any hope.

He simply tries to find another way to survive and to cope.

He wonders what he will become; what was meant to be.

But when he can see God, he can see what God can see.

There is nothing she can find that will bring her any joy.

She searches for some help in anything she can employ.

She’s lost and confused she searches for a flicker of light

That will show her the way to survive another cold night.

She thinks that all is lost; this is the way it will always be.

But when she can see God, she can see what God can see.

For the very day we were born, God had for us His plan.

Yet it’s every day we seem to struggle just to try to stand.

We declare ourselves unworthy to even show our face.

We reject the Father’s love and turn away from His grace.

Yet God keeps calling to us; trying to show us what will be.

For when we can see God, we can see what God can see.

For the plan God has for us is to prosper and to live long.

That we might come to praise Him with our words and song.

If we will seek His Kingdom and Righteousness every day.

The things we need, God will provide in just the right way.

We will know what we are called to do; what we are to be

For when we can see God, we can see what God can see.
